Why spiritual businesses need a copywriter: Help from a psychic marketer

A few years ago, I was sitting across from people reading their tarot cards. In my early twenties, I had dreams of building a spiritual business and making a difference in the world. 🔮

But I had no idea where to start or how to market my services.

The internet seemed so vast and it seemed like there was a lot of competition in person and online for clients.

Keywords are “it seemed like”.

It was hard to hold a mirror to myself and see what made me and my offerings special. I didn’t have a lot of business experience and I didn’t even know what copywriting was.

(Copywriting is just marketing writing. Any words you use that include a call to action for the person reading it. ✍️)

Eventually, I was able to sustain myself on tarot readings but soon I decided to pivot. It turns out, I really love helping other people build up and market their spiritual businesses!

The truth is that there are plenty of clients and customers for everyone

You are not in competition with other businesses. You are in competition with your own mindset.

Especially in this internet age, it is easier than ever to reach your ideal clients. At the same time, there is more noise to break through to get them to hear you. That’s why being authentic in your marketing is a secret weapon.

How can your ideal client find you if you aren’t being you?

It’s great to draw inspiration from other businesses you admire but it’s important to stay focused on what you do best.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I offer that is unique to me?

  • What problem do I solve?

  • How do my clients benefit from my services?

  • Does my marketing reflect the answers to these questions?

You aren’t limited by geographical radius anymore. So, think bigger! Who do you want to reach and where do they spend their time online (or in person)? Do you have a presence in those spaces? If not, that’s where you can get to work first.

Are you making these common marketing mistakes?

In the community of spiritual businesses, there are so many people doing interesting and important work. Yet, so many of them aren’t effectively showing people that.

I often find when I meet spiritual business owners in person, they talk with passion about their work. I find myself trusting them and wanting to engage with them more. Then, I go to their website and it doesn’t match the person I just met. It’s bland or confusing or I can’t find where to book a service. 🙅

We can do better than that!

Think about it. How many spiritual businesses have:

  • Websites that look and read like they are out of the 1990s

  • Copy that uses a bunch of jargon that is hard to understand

  • No clear call to action on their website, email campaigns, or social media

  • A lot of information about the reader/healer’s credentials but no information about how it could help the client

If you haven’t thought about your marketing strategy and funnel and how you’re getting people from the point of brand awareness to the place of purchasing from you, you are cheating yourself and the people who could benefit from your services. It’s up to you to create a roadmap for customers. A copywriter and marketing strategist can help you with this if you don’t know where to start.

Three copywriting and marketing tips:

  1. Focus on the potential client, not on you

  2. Always include a simple, clear call to action

  3. Be authentic and honest

Special bonus: OFFER VALUE

One of the most important things you can do to create loyal and repeat customers is to offer value every 👏 single 👏 time 👏. If people feel like they are genuinely getting something good out of working with you or purchasing your product, they are more likely to come back for more.

It’s easier to convert someone who has already bought from you than it is to convince a new person to buy. Don’t forget to cultivate lasting relationships with your clientele.

If I can do copywriting and marketing myself, why hire a copywriter?

Feel free to take my copywriting and marketing tips and create your own work! You absolutely do not need to hire a professional copywriter to have a successful business.

However…

My dream for you is that you are so busy with your overflowing schedule of clients, you are so sold out of your products, that you are ready to uplevel your marketing game. 📈

I hope that you get to a point where you want to make your business work for you instead of you working for your business.

My goal is that you want to outsource some of the work so you can:

  • Enjoy yourself more

  • Do the work that you love most

  • Clear your mind from the endless tasks

  • Live with more ease

A professional copywriter can be an amazing asset to your team. They can provide a new set of eyes and ideas. They can boost your conversion numbers and help you grow your business. They can give you back some of your precious time.

As a copywriter, I don’t just write marketing content, I strive to be a marketing strategist. I want to make sure the words I’m writing are actually making a difference for my clients. It’s a collaborative process.

I was a musical theatre major in college, so you know I love a collaborative process! 🎭

As a psychic tarot reader, I used my intuition to read the cards. Now, I combine intuition with practical knowledge to boost businesses. It excites me that I can use my gifts for good but in a completely different way.

If you’re on the fence about whether or not hiring a copywriter is the right move for your business, feel free to schedule a complimentary discovery call with me. We can discuss your business and generate some ideas with no obligation to book afterward.

I hope to talk with you soon! 👑
